Bedtime

The Little Library Initiative aims to develop a consistent link between early learning and care service and their local library to encourage a love of books and reading among young children.

The distribution of the First 5 Little Library is being managed by the Libraries Development Unit at the LGMA.

The contents of the bags include: two books.

A FREE bedtime story book and library card wallet are available at the library for all children of 4 years and under, to pick up and keep.  This exciting initiative aims to engage all parents of young children to read stories with them at bedtime.

Parents can choose a bedtime story book in either English or Irish.

The gifting of books ensures that babies and young children will grow up with books in their home. Whilst signing them up to library membership is key to ensuring they have a lifetime of access to books.
