Put a Skip on Your Road

Printer-friendly version

You need to buy a permit to put a skip on a public road where parking restrictions apply. This includes:

  • Double yellow lines
  • Paid parking zones, e.g. pay-and-display
  • Clearways

You do not need a permit if you want to put a skip on a road with no parking restrictions - provided that the skip is placed in a safe manner and vehicular access is maintained (minimum of 3 metres in width retained).  For any further information, please contact the Roadworks Control Unit on Tel. (01) 222 2246.
