Contact Details
Located on Foley Street in Dublin’s North Inner City, the LAB Gallery supports emerging art practices and delivers a year-round programme of free events for all ages.
Exhibitions
The LAB Gallery hosts up to 10 exhibitions across its three floors of exhibition space each year. Exhibitions are chosen from proposals or by direct invitation 18 months in advance.
We aim to work with artists at critical points in their development by providing a space for their first solo show or by giving established artists opportunities to experiment and try something new.
We encourage collaboration across art forms and commission new writing as part of every exhibition. We also organise events, workshops and education programmes around each exhibition to nurture participation, debate and enjoyment of the works we display.
All our exhibitions are open to the public and free to attend.
Education
The LAB Gallery runs a number of education programmes to expand artistic practice, learning and participation. For example, the Children’s Art in Libraries Programme encourages engagement in the arts among children, while the gallery also endeavours to run programmes for adults and older people.
The LAB also partners with the Institute of Art, Design and Technology on its Art and Research Collaboration MA course, as well as the National College of Arts and Design on its Learning Development Programme.
Rehearsal space
The LAB Gallery offers four large rehearsal spaces for hire to the arts community. They are suitable for rehearsals, workshops, auditions, classes, table reads, film and photo shoots. These rehearsal rooms are strictly limited to arts-related activities and are not suitable for the likes of conferences or meetings.
Spaces can be hired for a half-day, full-day or evening. For more information or to book a space, contact The Lab Gallery or make a booking on the website.
