When it is called out to an incident in a domestic or commercial setting, Dublin Fire Brigade charges the beneficiaries of its services a fee.

A Breakdown of Dublin Fire Brigade Call-Out Charges

Service: Description: Charge:
Domestic call-outs.

Dublin Fire Brigade applies a charge to call-outs to all domestic incidents and alarms.

No charges are applied to properties owned by local authorities.

Some household insurance policies will cover this charge.

€500 for the first hour or part thereof, regardless of the number of fire brigade vehicles involved.

€450 per vehicle per hour or part thereof for subsequent hours.

Commercial call-outs – to include road traffic accidents. Dublin Fire Brigade applies a charge to call-outs to all commercial incidents and alarms. Road traffic accidents are included in this category.

€610 for the first hour or part thereof, regardless of the number of fire brigade vehicles involved.

€485 per vehicle per hour or part thereof for subsequent hours.

There is no charge if a fire tender assists in a medical emergency.

Many household and vehicle insurance policies cover these charges. However, you should check your policy or ask your insurance company or broker about your coverage.

In cases where Dublin Fire Brigade responds and there is no actual incident, no charge will be levied.

Generally, the only grounds for appeal are “inability to pay” which must be demonstrated by including copies of social welfare receipts and/or pay-slips. Other extenuating circumstances may also be considered.
