Set up in 1985, the Dublin Fire Brigade Museum, at the O'Brien Institute in Marino houses artefacts and items donated by the families of Dublin firefighters from over the course of its near 150 years, including those of the men and women that lost their lives in the line of duty.

Museum exhibition

The museum spans two floors and includes uniforms, equipment, photographs and other historical items from the 1916 Rising, War of Independence and Civil War, which saw heavy damage to the city of Dublin, the 1941 Luftwaffe bombing of the North Strand and the 1981 Stardust nightclub fire.

Tours for both individuals and groups take place every Thursday, by prior arrangement, between 10.30am and 1.30pm.
