Public Litter Bin
Dublin City Council is responsible for emptying and maintaining over 3,000 public litter bins within its administrative area.
The location of litter bins is based on factors such as footfall, shop fronts and main thoroughfares which require a litter bin. Bins are emptied at least once a day with high footfall locations receiving additional servicing.
Each bin is fitted with a QR code. This means that each bin can be scanned using a mobile phone and subsequently reported for being full/damaged/graffiti/illegal dumping. This request will be sent to the local waste management team for action.
The condition of litter bins can also be reported by clicking the link below.
