St. Finbar’s Court is located in Cabra, Dublin 7 at the intersection of St. Finbar’s and Kilkernan Road.  Construction of the new Older Person housing development commenced onsite in summer 2023. It is due to complete in mid-2025 with the delivery of 46 new homes and a community room. There will be 44 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom homes of which all are universally designed. Communal gardens will form part of the public realm around the complex.

Currently onsite, the roof works structures have been completed with the topping off of the roof taking place in late 2024 which sealed the development, allowing for works to commence inside. Installation of the balcony structures is underway and groundworks are progressing. The tower crane is due to be removed in the coming weeks and the Design Team are currently at the snagging stage within the apartments.

Once completed, the new homes will be available under the Choice Based Letting Scheme which will be managed by Dublin City Council’s Housing Allocations section.

St Finbar’s Court is a regeneration project and is being delivered by Dublin City Council. An Integrated Design Team led by Sean Harrington Architects were appointed to design the new older person housing scheme and the plans achieved Part 8 planning approval in in April 2021. After a procurement process, Townlink were appointed in 2023 to construct the new development.

The construction of this housing development is being funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage.
