Put a Skip on Your Road

Back to Apply for a licence or permit

You need to buy a permit to put a skip on a public road where parking restrictions apply.

This includes:

  • Double yellow lines
  • Paid parking zones, e.g. pay and display
  • Clearways

It may take up to 7 working days to process your application, depending on where your skip is to be located.

You do not need a permit if you want to put a skip on a road with no parking restrictions – provided that the skip is placed in a safe manner and vehicular access is maintained (minimum of 3 metres in width retained).

For any further information, please contact the Roadworks Control Unit on 01 222 2246.

Get a skip permit

Step 1: Complete the skip permit application form

Note: You must submit this form every time you want a skip permit (there are no automatic renewals).
