Is é Líonra Athchúrsála Pobail Éireann (CRNI) an comhlacht ionadaíoch uile-oileáin d’eagraíochtaí pobalbhunaithe athúsáide, athchúrsála agus dramhaíola agus um chosc ar dhramhaíl.

Its main functions include:

  • The promotion of reuse, recycling, community development and social inclusion
  • Providing support to our members
  • Education and awareness raising
  • Representing the sector at both national and international levels
  • Promoting and participating in research

Networking with relevant state agencies and other organisations

As a network organisation CRNI works on common policy areas and events such as Reuse Month with key stakeholders. These include the Department of Communications, Climate Action & the Environment, the EPA and the Eastern Midlands Waste Region. CRNI has began a project funded by the EPA’s Green Enterprise Programme which is investigating the feasibility of a quality mark for reused and recycled goods in Ireland.

CRNI members, most of whom are community-based social enterprises, undertake a wide variety of activities, such as furniture and textile up-cycling, industrial symbiosis, textile reuse, online exchanges, reuse of surplus commercial materials, bicycle refurbishment and WEEE, mattress and paint recycling.
