Permanent Scheme: South Circular Road to Thomas Street and St. James' Linear Park
These works are part of the Kilmainham to Thomas Street Active Travel Scheme and are currently at the Preliminary Design phase.
A multidisciplinary design team has been appointed to develop designs for a permanent high quality walking and cycling route along the full extent of the Kilmainham to Thomas Street Cycling Improvement Scheme.
These works include:
- New cycle infrastructure along South Circular Road, Suir Road and Grand Canal View from Marrowbone Lane to Thomas Street, and the upgrade of the interim measures that were already installed during the first phase section of this scheme
- An upgrade of St. James’ Linear Park between South Circular Road and Suir Road in line with the St James’s linear Park Masterplan. This will provide cycling facilities through the park and refurbishment of the park
Public consultation for these final sections is expected to take place at the end of 2025. New information regarding design plans and public consultations will be published on this page as it becomes available.
