The Royal Canal Greenway
Dublin City Council is developing the Royal Canal Greenway in Dublin.
The Royal Canal Greenway is a primary greenway route in the National Transport Authority's Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network Plan.
The part of the Royal Canal Greenway within the boundaries of Dublin city will form part of Dublin City Council's Active Travel Network. See where it fits into the citywide network by viewing our interactive map.
The Dublin City Council part of the Royal Canal Greenway will be delivered in four phases:
- Phase 1: Spencer Dock to Sheriff Street.
- Phase 2: Sheriff Street to North Strand Road.
- Phase 3: North Strand Road to Phibsborough Road.
- Phase 4: Phibsborough to Ashtown.
Phases 1 and 2 are already complete.
