The Liffey Cycle Route: George's Quay to Aston Quay
The George's Quay to Aston Quay section of the Liffey Cycle Route improves walking and cycling facilities in Dublin city centre. This section is now complete.
This section of the Liffey Cycle Route upgrades the existing road layout and reallocate road space for Active Travel. It includes provisions for pedestrians and cyclists.
It improves walking and cycling facilities and provides safer crossing points along approximately 750 metres running from Talbot Memorial Bridge to Aston Place on Aston Quay.
The Liffey Cycle Route is a multi-section Active Travel scheme designed to create a safe and continuous cycling path along the River Liffey in Dublin's city centre. Construction on this phase began in early 2024 and it will officially open on 27 February 2025. The contractor for the works is Cairn Construction.
