Dalymount to Cabra Cross Active Travel Scheme
This new scheme will provide 1.8km of improved walking and cycling facilities along Cabra Road, Dalymount and North Circular Road. It is currently in the Concept Development and Option Selection phase.
The Dalymount to Cabra Cross Active Travel Scheme will deliver a 1.8km walking and cycling route along Cabra Road, Dalymount and North Circular Road. The scheme runs between the Cabra Road/Navan Road junction and the Eglinton Terrace/North Circular Road junction.
Designing the cycling infrastructure for Cabra and Dalymount Road will require a range of solutions to accommodate various constraints, such as parking, bus lanes and the Luas Bridge. The scheme will feature a combination of one-way cycle lanes on either side of the road, two-way cycle tracks, and shared bus/cycle lanes. Key changes should include:
- Construction of new protected cycle tracks along Cabra Road, Dalymount and North Circular Road
- Signalised junction upgrades with improved cycling and pedestrian crossing facilities
- Public Realm Improvements at various locations
This scheme forms part of Dublin City Council's 314km Active Travel Network. To see where it fits into this citywide network, you can view our interactive GIS map.
The scheme will provide quality, protected walking and cycling facilities to cater for everyone. It will facilitate a more active lifestyle for all ages, bringing multiple benefits for physical and mental wellbeing.
