The National Famine Way Roadshow

The event takes place on Thursday 5th June from 3-5pm in Charleville Mall Library, Dublin 1 and everyone is welcome to attend. 

The Dublin 1 Roadshow includes speakers Caroilín Callery, founder of the National Famine Way and Dr Catherine Healy, Historian-in-Residence, EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum. The National Famine Way Roadshow tours in May and June 2025 calling to Charleville Mall Library amongst seven locations along the route of the long distance trail. 

Featuring talks and presentations by leading local and international famine historians, this fascinating event will bring a poignant part of our history to life. 

Appropriately, the month of May marks both the anniversary of the mass departure of 1,490 emigrants from Strokestown, Co. Roscommon and the annual National Famine Commemoration.
