Dodder Greenway: Patrick Doyle Road to Orwell Road

This section of the Dodder Greenway will provide improved walking and cycling facilities between Patrick Doyle Road and Orwell Road. Phase 1: Dodder Walk to Orwell Road is in the Concept Development and Option Selection phase.

The Patrick Doyle Road to Orwell Road Active Travel Scheme is a section of the Dodder Greenway. It will be delivered in phases, with Phase 1 focusing on the section from Dodder Walk to Orwell Road via Dartry Park.

This first phase aims to deliver a walking and cycling route along the Dodder River of approximately 580 metres in length, beginning at the entrance to Dartry Park from Dodder Walk and ending at the junction of Orwell Road and Orwell Gardens. It will include a new accessible walking and cycling bridge to facilitate a safe and continuous route across the Dodder. The existing pedestrian bridge will remain.

This scheme will link with other Dodder Greenway schemes including the Milltown Road to Dundrum Road scheme and the Dodder Road Lower to Orwell Road scheme, which is being delivered by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

This scheme forms part of Dublin City Council's 314km Active Travel Network. To see where it fits into this citywide network, you can view our interactive GIS map.
