Dublin City Council's Flood Management Team on the Bank Holiday weekend adverse weather conditions

Further periods of heavy rainfall are expected on already saturated ground. Dublin City Council’s Flood Management Team continues to prepare for adverse weather conditions and related impacts throughout today (Saturday 31st Jan) and this will continue through the public holiday weekend. Car parks at Clontarf and Sandymount have now reopened. The flood gates along the River Dodder will remain closed until further notice. Our busy crews remain active across the city, responding to issues as they arise, and the evolving situation will continue to be monitored closely.

Dublin City Council are in regular contact with the National Emergency Coordination Group.

Dublin City Council is monitoring river levels closely as rainfall continues, to ensure appropriate responses as required. Dublin City Council maintains a limited supply of sandbags at strategic locations for use in response to identified flooding risks. These resources are deployed by the Council where required, with priority given to critical infrastructure and locations assessed as being at immediate risk.
