Dublin Bike Week Grants Poster - Community Focus

The Bike Week Community Grant supports local community groups and organizations in Dublin to promote cycling during Bike Week. The grant helps fund events, activities, and initiatives that encourage people and groups of all ages to cycle safely and enjoyably.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Community groups and clubs
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Local cycling groups
  • Family Friendly Events

Applicants must be based in Dublin City and demonstrate a clear plan for a cycling-related activity during Bike Week.

Funded activities should encourage participation in cycling and may include:

  • Guided group rides
  • Community cycling events or challenges
  • Promotional campaigns for cycling awareness

Activities should be inclusive, safe, and community focused.

  • Merchandise
  • Bike Maintenance
  • Racing
  • Purchase of bicycles or bicycle stands
  • Event run outside of Dublin City Council’s boundaries

The grant can cover costs such as:

  • Equipment rental for event (bikes, helmets, safety gear)
  • Instructor or facilitator fees

Personal expenses or activities unrelated to cycling are not eligible.

Grant amounts vary based on the scope and scale of your project. Applications will be assessed on:

  • Community impact
  • Inclusion and accessibility
  • Budget justification

Exact funding levels will be communicated in your grant offer.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 1st April 2026. Please ensure your submission is complete and uploaded before this date. Late applications will not be accepted.

Applications are reviewed by a panel based on:

  • Project relevance to Bike Week objectives
  • Community benefit
  • Feasibility and safety of activities
  • Value for money

Successful applicants will receive a grant offer and guidance on reporting requirements.

Additional Terms & Conditions:                                                                                           

1. Events must be held during Bike Week 2026 (9th – 17th May 2026) within Dublin City Council’s boundaries. Dublin City Council's flagship Bike Week event, Pedal Power, takes place on Sunday 10th May so groups are asked not to clash with that, if possible.

2. The Bike Week logo must be used on all promotional materials.

3. Bike Week grants are awarded towards the organisation and running of events and not for capital investment projects, such as the construction of bike stands, purchase of bicycles, balance bikes or other capital equipment.

4. The grant does not provide funding or part-funding for training like CYCLERIGHT training, unless provided by CYCLERIGHT trainers and approved by Cycling Ireland.
