About Dublin City Architects
Dublin City Council’s City Architects Division is responsible for promoting design and providing architectural, urban and conservation design services to Dublin City Council.
In carrying out this role, we:
- Aim for Dublin’s citizens to enjoy a high-quality built environment that is clear, generous, appropriately scaled, well made, positive to its context, and promotes access and inclusion.
- Work to achieve excellence in the ordinary.
- Consider the quality of places alongside buildings, so that new developments contribute positively to public spaces.
- Learn from the past to create architecture that matches the quality and longevity of earlier periods.
- Facilitate contemporary architecture that performs to the highest environmental standards and responds to climate change in a culturally aware and inclusive way.
The office designs and commissions a wide range of construction projects and aims to achieve high standards for the people who use Dublin City Council buildings.
