Cruinniú na nÓg: Raranga Ika (Maōri Weaving – Fish)

Join us in Phibsboro Library for this weaving workshop with artist Julianne Gee Ho as part of our Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations. Raranga (Maōri Basketry) is a Maōri craft from Aotearoa, New Zealand using harakeke (New Zealand flax or phormium tenax) which grows here in Ireland.

By making these small objects children will learn about an age-old craft, Maōri language & customs, how to prepare the rau (leaves) & take home their very own ornament with knowledge of how to make more to create their own future decorations, cards or collages.

Suitable for ages 10-12.
