Building tomorrow’s Dublin.

Dublin is changing faster than at any point in its modern history. Climate adaptation, Metrolink and the largest infrastructure programme ever undertaken by the State is reshaping our capital city. The decisions made today will influence how Dublin works, moves and grows for decades to come.

Dublin City Council is at the centre of that effort – and we are looking for the engineering graduates who want to play a direct role in shaping the city’s future.

This is public-service engineering on an exceptional scale. Our graduates are involved from the outset; designing and delivering projects, converting 2-dimensional drawings into the sustainable built environment that will serve communities for generations.

As an Engineers Ireland Employer, we provide structured mentoring, accredited training, and meaningful responsibility from day one. The pathway to Chartered Engineer is built into the role, not bolted on; helping you develop a rewarding career, while contributing to Dublin’s future.

Come help us build tomorrows Dublin, together.

Five remits. One city.

DCC graduate engineers work on a single client’s portfolio: Ireland’s capital city. The work is not bid-by-bid. It is generational. Decisions made by a graduate engineer this year will be visible in the streetscape, the flood defences, the cycle network and the climate performance of Dublin in 2050.

Climate adaptation

Flood alleviation, urban heat mitigation, sustainable drainage at city scale. DCC engineers are delivering Dublin’s first generation of large-scale climate-resilient infrastructure.

Public realm, structures & active travel (Heading only two point sizes bigger than text below)

BusConnects realisation, Active Travel's Walk Wheel network, school streets, plaza and street redesign — and the integration of MetroLink into Dublin’s public realm and active travel network. The largest active travel transformation in the State, designed and consented by DCC.

Water, drainage & environment

Coastal protection, river basin management, flood risk, bathing water quality. Engineering Dublin’s relationship with the Irish Sea, the Liffey, the Tolka, the Dodder.

Housing & regeneration(Heading only two point sizes bigger than text below)

Site servicing, infrastructure design, brownfield redevelopment for the city’s housing pipeline. Engineering the spaces around the homes Dublin urgently needs.

Smart & sustainable infrastructure

Telecoms, GIS-led asset management, BIM, digital twins, smart-city innovation. Dublin City Council operates one of the most ambitious smart-city programmes in Europe.

Your career pathway, laid down.

Dublin City Council is an Engineers Ireland Accredited Employer. The pathway to Chartered Engineer (CEng) is structured, mentored and supported.

At DCC, graduates are trusted early with real decisions on live city projects, supported by senior engineers and a defined chartership pathway. The accountability is real. So is the development.
