As part of the Bastille Day celebrations in Ireland, the French Embassy in association with Irish cultural partners, presents a special French Film Programme from 1st to 19th July 2026 in Dublin, Cork, Dún Laoghaire, and online.

Dublin City Council Libraries are delighted to participate in this initiative by the French Embassy, celebrating French culture and marking the close friendship between Ireland and France.

On Wednesday 8 July, join us in the Central Library for a screening of Ernest and Célestine : A Journey in Charabia.

Ernest and Celestine return to Ernest’s land, Charabia, to repair his precious broken violin. They discover that music has been banned all over the country for several years. For our two heroes, it is unthinkable to live without music! Joined by new friends, including a mysterious masked avenger, Ernest and Celestine will try to right this injustice and bring joy back to land of bears.
