Liffey Vale House and Gardens
Liffey Vale House is a Georgian protected structure on the banks of the River Liffey at Longmeadows. It is being transformed into a biodiversity and education centre.
Dublin City Council is developing this site as a model for rewilding and sustainable landscape management, where nature is gently guided to reclaim the space.
Plans include:
- A multi-purpose learning space, café, and public amenities.
- Interpretation on local biodiversity and river ecology.
- Universal access through woodland, wetland, and riverside paths.
- A mix of wild and accessible zones, allowing nature to thrive with minimal intervention.
The project will reconnect people with the Liffey Valley’s rich ecosystems and heritage, offering immersive experiences in a rewilded urban landscape.
