Do you have little ones at home and  are running out of ideas on how to entertain them? Or perhaps older students who are struggling with a project for school? Or maybe you have a curious mind.

Why not check out World Book Online. This is a free resource offering a suite of websites from the publishers of World Book Encyclopaedias.

In the Early Learning section there a host of things to do in Games, Activities, Stories and Videos. In the Games category your children can learn how to trace their ABCs and then discover which animal begins with that letter. For fun there are mazes, connect the dots and the all-time favourite, colouring pages. These have all been developed by experts in early learning education.

In the Kids zone, which is for older children there is a fantastic section on projects with everything from machines, plants, to our planet and a whole lot more. Another section provides information on famous people. Here you can search by name, or browse the categories from athletes, astronauts, Nobel Prize winners to actors. There’s super illustrations and some have real life video clips. They even provide information on how to cite properly for your projects.

In the Student section again you can search biographies and here find out about criminals and outlaws, artists, sports people. For instance did you know that today in 1935 Elvis Presley was born in America, and in 1947 David Bowie was born in England? In the Behind the Headlines, find out about everything from current affairs, weather, disasters and much much more.

To access hours of fun, and engaging learning all you need is your Dublin City Library card number. Follow the link and prepare to spend hours discovering lots of interesting facts.
