Comhpháirtíocht Spóirt agus Folláine Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath
Oibríonn Comhpháirtíocht Spóirt agus Folláine Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath le réimse páirtithe leasmhara chun seirbhísí spóirt agus gníomhaíochta coirp a sholáthar do do phobail. Áirítear leo seo tionscadail áitiúla, imeachtaí ar fud na cathrach agus tionscnaimh eolais agus oiliúna a sholáthar.
The Partnership has 19 dedicated Sport Officers who deliver and develop physical activities across the city, as well as working closely with a HSE Health Promotion Officer and 20 co-funded officers in boxing, cricket, rowing, rugby and soccer.
Small Grants
We provide a grant for sports clubs called the Sport For Young People Small Grant Scheme, once a year. The grant is provided to clubs affiliated with a National Governing Body and with members between the ages of 10 to 21, with the aim of increasing participation in sport by young people throughout Dublin City. The grant allocation is provided by Sport Ireland (through the National Local Sports Partnership Programme) and Dublin City Council.
Courses
Dublin City Sports & Wellbeing Partnership runs Safeguard courses that are open to the public.
There are three different courses within Safeguarding:
- Safeguarding 1 – Basic Awareness Workshop in Child Welfare and Protection
- Safeguarding 2 – Club Children’s Officer (CCO) Workshop
- Safeguarding 3 – Designated Liaison Person Workshop
Everyone working in a sports club with young people should complete the Safeguarding 1 course. Safeguarding 1 must also be completed before participating in Safeguarding 2 or 3. Safeguarding 3 may be completed without completing Safeguarding 2. Those wishing to become CCOs should complete Safeguarding 1 and 2; and those wishing to be the Designated Person in a club should complete 1 and 3.
