One of our most useful databases covering the UK and Irish economy is: Ibisworld

The Ibisworld team do more than just assemble the facts, they combine them with analysis from economists and industry experts to give valuable industry intelligence in each of their reports.

To get a flavour of the detailed but very readable reports they produce, you can see their latest report on how Brexit will affect the UK economy.

Our subscription covers Ibisworld UK and Irish reports. There are more of the former than the later but their Irish section is being constantly expanded. This is a link to the list of Irish reports.

So who will find Ibisworld useful?

Ibisworld is essential reading for anyone interested in doing business with the UK.   Ibisworld analysts have developed a Covid 19 and Brexit Impact tool, which can be used to identify the exposure of each section of the economy to these events. This tool will be regularly maintained and updated to reflect the changing situations.

Industry intelligence is important for anyone thinking of starting or wishing to grow their businesses. Each Ibisworld industry report is divided into the following sections:

Industry at a Glance, Industry Performance, Key External Drivers, Current Performance, Historical Performance Data, Industry Outlook, Products and Markets, Competitive Landscape, Major Companies, Operating Conditions, Key Statistics.

Students will find that because Ibisworld report writers have used the standard tools of SWOT, PESTLE, and Porter’s Five Forces in their analysis the material is ideal for assignments.
