Dublin City Comes Alive with ‘Summer in Dublin’ Festival Series

Dublin City Council, in collaboration with The Temple Bar Company and DublinTown.ie proudly presents the launch of ‘Summer in Dublin’ – a brand-new series of vibrant city-centre activations running across five weekends this July and August.
Kicking off on Thursday, July 3rd, ‘Summer in Dublin’ will bring Parliament Street and the surrounding area to life with live entertainment, food and craft markets, immersive pop-ups, and a host of free, family-friendly activities – all set in a safe, traffic-free environment in the heart of the city.
The festival series is to celebrate the new Traffic-Free arrangements for Parliament Street, as part of the Dublin City Transport Plan 2023.This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a more liveable, accessible, and enjoyable Dublin for everyone. We invite all residents and visitors to come experience the city in a new way this summer.

It is important to bring our public spaces to life and give people compelling reasons to enjoy our capital this summer.
This initiative celebrates our small businesses, and everything that’s fresh and exciting about Dublin today. With a vibrant mix of art, performance, and immersive events, ‘Summer in Dublin’ is exactly what’s needed to bring people out and into the heart of the city on a summer’s day.”
‘Summer in Dublin’ will provide locals and visitors with live entertainment as they shop, socialise and stroll around the capital over five consecutive weeks:
- Week 1 - Thursday, July 3rd - Sunday, July 6th
- Week 2 - Thursday, July 10th - Sunday, July 13th
- Week 3 - Thursday, July 17th - Sunday, July 20th
- Week 4 - Thursday, July 24th - Sunday, July 27th
- Week 5 - Thursday, July 31st - Sunday, August 3rd
Highlights include:
- Parliament Street transforms into a pedestrian paradise with The Pirates of Parliament Street, featuring games, face painting, and fun for all ages.
- East Essex Street hosts vibrant Sunday markets with live music, street food, and handmade crafts in a historic setting.
- Meeting House Square will once again come to life with a diverse programme of live music performances, spanning everything from rock and pop to R’n’B and traditional Irish sounds.
- The ever-popular Temple Bar Night Market extends its hours every Thursday (2PM–8PM), continuing on Fridays and Saturdays (12PM–6PM), offering a unique evening experience with handcrafted goods, artwork, and more from local creators.
As part of ‘Summer in Dublin’, ‘Style in the City’ will take over Saturday afternoons with fashion, beauty, and music in the heart of the city. Each weekend, visitors can enjoy free fashion shows featuring local retailers, expert styling tips, beauty demonstrations, and live DJ sets. 'Style in the City' will take place over eight consecutive Saturdays between July and August, with festivities kicking off on July 5th on Henry Street from 1pm to 5pm. Whether you’re a fashion lover, beauty enthusiast, or just out for a fun day in town, it’s the perfect way to soak up the best of Dublin’s style scene — all completely free!
