New campaign celebrates foreign direct investment in Dublin
Published on 19th March 2025
The Dublin Brand, Dublin.ie, is proud to launch a new campaign, online and across out of home, celebrating foreign direct investment in the Dublin region.
‘Invested in Dublin: Local ambition, global success’ is the first collaborative campaign to be produced by the four Dublin local authorities. Dublin City Council, South Dublin County Council, Fingal County Council, and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are coming together to showcase the industry-leading multinationals doing business in their respective areas. This work is aligned to the Dublin Regional Enterprise Plan’s objective to advance a shared brand for the region.
Rolling out online through the Dublin Brand’s LinkedIn page, the campaign will share video testimonials from six companies invested in the region. Out of home advertising across the county, including the airport, will also feature.
Tech powerhouse Salesforce and legal professional services firm Walkers Global LLP are featured from Dublin City. Salesforce celebrate 25 years of doing business in Ireland in 2025 and employ over 2,700 people from more than 30 countries in Dublin. Walkers are also celebrating an anniversary this year, having set up shop in Ireland 15 years ago. They service a range of clients from their offices in the George’s Dock area.
In South Dublin, the upcoming Dublin Fields project is featured. The planned state-of-the-art film and television production facility will be in Grange Castle and, once operational, will create over 2,000 jobs and put the Dublin region on the global media production map.
From the Fingal area, MSD Biotech share its story. Their flagship Dublin facility is in Swords and has seen an investment of over €1 billion in recent years. Life sciences are also represented strongly in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area, where global biotech giant Amgen researches, develops, manufactures, and delivers life-changing medications to millions worldwide.
Finally, Microsoft showcases their innovative campus in Leopardstown, employing 4,000 people. They have been doing business in Ireland for 40 years, and their south Dublin site is their most strategic outside of the US, leveraging local talent and a vibrant ecosystem of business capabilities to thrive in the European market.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism, and Employment Peter Burke highlighted the importance of continued investment in the Dublin region:
“The Dublin region is a global gateway for innovation and investment, offering a dynamic business environment and world-class talent. This has attracted some of the world’s most successful companies across multiple industries. The Dublin Region’s pro-business environment, a deep pool of skilled and educated talent, and government support will ensure continued economic growth, job creation, and prosperity into the future.”
Dublin City Council’s chief executive, Richard Shakespeare, celebrates the cross-regional collaboration the campaign has facilitated:
“This is the first time all four Dublin local authorities have come together to market the region on an international level. We’re proud of the region’s success as a destination for international investment. We hope the featured multinationals and others like them will continue to do business in Dublin for many years.”
