Bike Week 2025
Bike Week is a week that celebrates cycling and encourages new people to take part. There’s a range of events taking place across the city. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a leisurely ride, these events are perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Pedal Power Cycle Parade:

Get ready to roll at the PedalPower Cycle Parade!
Join us on Sunday, 11th May at 11am at Eamonn Ceannt Park (Clogher Road entrance) for a colourful 7km community cycle through Crumlin, Harold's Cross, and Drimnagh, before looping back to the park.
This year’s theme is “Bees & Flowers”, so expect a buzz of activity with vibrant costumes and joyful pedal-powered energy! Whether you’re decked out in daisies or buzzing like a bee, everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Can’t start at the park? Hop in at one of our four buzzing pick-up points:
- Bangor Circle
- Mount Argus Park
- Harold’s Cross Park
- Parnell Road (at the Fire Station) – where the final Kiddie Kilometre kicks off, leading back to Eamonn Ceannt Park.

Need a bike to take part in the event?
RedClick dublinbikes are offering up to 6 hours of rental charge-free cycling, after that rental charges will start to apply. This offer will be available on dublinbikes.ie and the RedClick dublinbikes app from Saturday afternoon 10th May.
Bleeper Bikes have pedal bikes and e-bikes available to hire from €0.04 per minute. Register on the Bleeper app to get started.

Pedal Power Bike Festival

PedalPower Dublin is a FREE cycling event for all ages and abilities, taking place in Sundrive Velodrome, Eamonn Ceannt Park, Crumlin from 12noon to 4.00pm on Sunday 11th May.
A wide range of family-friendly outdoor events will be held in the park to get people moving and to promote a more sustainable urban mobility culture, such as children’s activities, food trucks, bike maintenance workshops, BMX demonstrations, pedal-powered workshops and much more!
Our PedalPower Cycle Parade will be happening immediately before the festival at 11.00am along a 7km route. The theme is bees and flowers, with many of the participants putting on colourful costumes. Join us at any of the four pick up points of the parade for a buzzing good time, the pick-up points are Bangor Circle, Mount Argus Park, Harold’s Cross Park and Parnell Road (Fire station) for final Kiddie Kilometre ending at Eamonn Ceannt Park.
PedalPower is a celebration of the benefits of cycling and demonstrates how anyone can incorporate it into their everyday life through interactive workshops, engaging panel discussion and exciting activities.
This event is brought to you by Dublin City Council, supported by the National Transport Authority, Climate Action Week and National Bike Week and organised by Limelight Communications.

Sunset Cycle
A family-friendly, traffic-free 5km cycle complete with bike DJ in the Phoenix Park as the sun sets. This event is free - just register and show up with your family and friends for a chilled summer evening! Registration here.

Dublin City Council is offering free bike maintenance and advice to the public at Ballymun Plaza from 9.30am to 4pm. Whilst no booking is required, service will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis so arrive as early as possible to avoid disappointment!

Scavenger Hunting Bike Challenge
Join Dublin City Council for a treasure hunt like no other! See the quirky side of the Phoenix Park by completing our Scavenger Hunt Bike Challenge! Find each of the 10+ clues in any order and submit the answers by smartphone to win. There will be finger food, photo displays and prizes in The Hole in the Wall afterwards so please join us there to celebrate!

Sunrise Cycle
Start the day the right way with a sunrise cycle in the beautiful Dublin Bay. Enjoy a leisurely 10km return morning cycle in Clontarf watching the sunrise. This cycle is open to all levels of cyclists and will all be on a protected bike lane. We will finish with coffee and a chat in Clontarf.

Singles Cycle
Join Dublin City Council for Bike Week with a romantic twist! We have teamed up with Your Friend, My Friend and for a special singles cycle - a relaxed, social spin designed to help like-minded singles connect while enjoying the best of the city on two wheels. The cycle will end in Meagher’s Pub in Fairview for pizza and a mingling event.

Outdoor Film Screening: The Song Cycle
Date and time: Friday 16th May, 9pm
Location: Meeting House Square
This open air film screening of Irish documentary The Song Cycle takes place in Meeting House Square as a Bike Week by Night event. Musician and filmmaker Nick Kelly sets out to cycle from his home in Ireland to the Glastonbury Festival, carrying all his gear on his bike and playing in pubs and clubs along the way. He’s accompanied by his easy-going musical partner Seán Millar, who travels by bus to join Nick onstage each evening, and by intrepid cameraman Céin O’Brien who films the agony and ecstasy of the odyssey. Risking life, limb and dignity in a funny, thought-provoking story about Mother Nature, Father Time and Brothers on the Road.
There will be a a pre-screening panel discussion, sparking conversation on how Dublin can evolve into a more liveable, community orientated, cycling city.

Community Cycle, Donaghmede Park

Dublin City Food Culture Tour by Bike

This cycling food tour weaves through buzzing streets and hidden lanes, uncovering the city’s best coffee spots and street food treasures, and a few hidden gems along the way.
Bikes, Biodiversity and Bull Island

Join the Biodiversity team for a guided cycle from Alfie Byrne Road to the Causeway Road taking in unique landscapes and wildlife of North Bull Island followed by a talk at the Visitor’s Centre.
Active Travel workshop: Listening to the City

Location: IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art)
A workshop for Bealtaine and Dublin Bike Week with Michelle Browne. Listening to the City is a series of audio guides developed by artist and curator Michelle Browne to create insight and empathy into the way different city users experience the city. Join us for Listening to the City III, where you the public, are invited to create your own audio description of the city. What routes do you cycle, walk, or scoot? How do you experience these routes: what sights, sounds or smells are part of your everyday experiences of moving through Dublin and its suburbs? Together we will create an online audio map to share our experiences of the city with the wider public.
