Chapelizod Road to Chapelizod Bypass Active Travel Scheme

This new scheme will provide 3.5km of improved walking and cycling facilities along Chapelizod Road and Conyngham Road. It is currently in the Concept Development and Option Selection phase.

The scheme commences on the outskirts of Chapelizod Village at the junction of Main Street and Chapelizod Road. It continues on Chapelizod Road passing through the South Circular Road Junction, which will be fully upgraded as part of the works. The route progresses along Conyngham Road, finishing at the junction of Chesterfield Avenue and Conyngham Road. At this point, the scheme will connect with the Chesterfield Avenue Active Travel Scheme and Liffey Cycle Route.

This scheme forms part of Dublin City Council's 314km Active Travel Network. To see where it fits into this citywide network, you can view our interactive GIS map.

The scheme will provide quality, protected walking and cycling facilities to cater for everyone. It will facilitate a more active lifestyle for all ages, bringing multiple benefits for physical and mental wellbeing.
