South Circular Road Cycle Upgrade Project
The South Circular Road Cycle Upgrade project upgraded the existing 0.4 kilometres of cycle track on each side of the road from the Con Colbert Road junction to the southside of Island Bridge/Sarah’s Bridge.
The works included the removal of the temporary bollards and the installation of concrete kerb protection, red asphalt surfacing on the cycle track, road markings, and cycle-friendly gully gratings.
There are also Safe Routes to School measures with the installation of pencil bollards and road markings outside Gaelscoil Inse Chór.
The works were carried out by SIAC BP and Cairn Construction and were completed on 30th June 2026.
