Reconfiguration of Bus Stop 1724 Works

Bus Stop 1724 is located on the inbound side of Clontarf Road between Mount Prospect Avenue and Dollymount Avenue. The stop serves the 130 bus route.

At present the bus platform consists of a shared space with the cycle-track and footway combined (see Figure 1). It is planned to provide segregation of the cycle-track and footpath with a landing zone being provided to accommodate bus boarding and alighting. 

An outline of the proposed layout is as per Figure 2 below.Works shall include kerbing, footway construction, red cycle-track surfacing and line marking all in the vicinity of Bus Stop 1724.

Works are planned to commence on 30th October and run until 7th November 2025. A 24hour traffic lane closure on Clontarf Road (at Bus Stop 1724) is proposed for the duration of the works. The closed traffic lane is to be utilised to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. It will still be possible to travel in both directions along Clontarf Road however there shall be a STOP/GO system in place at the works location. 

An extract from the traffic management layout which shall be in place during the works shall be as per Figure 3 below.
