The Open Learning Centre located in the Central Library offers a wide range of computer and language self learning courses.

  • A Certificate of Completion is awarded when a minimum of 50 hours study has been completed. For language, the hours required are as follows: Beginner level - 50 hours, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate levels - 70 hours, Advanced and Expert levels - 90 hours.
  • Stock of reference books for learning English: includes materials for IELTS, Cambridge First Certificate and Advanced/Proficiency Certificate. Books on Business English and English for Work as well as TOEIC and TOEFL books. Plus a small stock of books on teaching English.
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) version 5 on CD-ROM
  • Microsoft Academy and testing centre, we offer 400 courses free of charge
  • Typing instruction (self learn)
  • Internet for beginners (self learn)
  • Driver Theory Test instruction (self-learning on CD-ROM)
