Lord Mayor hosts training session with Kellie Harrington and teenage girls

The Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma Blain has hosted a training session with Kellie Harrington and a group of teenage girls from across the city at the Mansion House.
The session was part of the Lord Mayor’s initiative to promote the participation and retention of girls in sport, one of her priorities for her term in office.
12 girls who attended an event at the Mansion House last month empowering young female athletes, won the training session with Kellie as part of a raffle held on the day.
Kellie is a double Olympic gold medal winning boxing champion and the Lord Mayor felt she was the ideal person to speak to the girls.
The Lord Mayor said: “I want to sincerely thank Kellie for agreeing to take part in this very important session. This wasn’t just about boxing. She is an inspiration to the next generation of girls, and I wanted them to hear from someone who I knew they would respect about the importance of sport, teamwork and leadership. I can’t think of a better person than Kellie to impart those life lessons.”
