Lord Mayor re-opens Rosary Hall Football Clubhouse in Harold’s Cross

Dublin City Council is delighted to announce the re-opening of Rosary Hall Football Clubhouse and Community Facility in Harold’s Cross, following a €1m refurbishment.
The official opening was carried out today by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma Blain.
The complete refurbishment of Rosary Hall has resulted in state-of-the-art club facilities, dressing rooms, a community hall on the first floor and a coffee shop.
Dublin City Council has made a very important investment in this facility, which recognises the invaluable work of so many volunteers over so many years.
“The importance of giving children a sporting outlet was brought home to us in the starkest way possible during the pandemic,” said the Lord Mayor. “We can never underestimate the huge physical, social and psychological advantages to children of participating in organised sport on a regular basis. Over 250 children are now playing on HCYFC teams here. I am particularly delighted to hear that in recent years the number of girls playing soccer has increased so much that girls-only teams have been introduced in response to this ever-growing demand.”
Harolds Cross YFC has ensured that the children of this community have been able to take full advantage of the playing fields here at Rosary Park since the 1980’s.
The hall on the first floor of the new facility will provide a hub for community activity as it is open to clubs and groups to hire throughout the week. Harolds Cross YFC, together with Harolds Cross Village Community Group, are committed to ensuring the widest possible usage to the benefit of all sectors of the surrounding community.
Dublin City Council understands that the club has played a central role in the lives of so many people in the local community and looks forward to seeing this new facility be of benefit for generations to come.
