Has this been designed?

No. At present the project is going through the information gathering and validation stage to develop options and then a Master Plan. Once the options have been developed further stakeholder consultation will take place before finalising the Master Plan. Once this stage is completed, around Autumn 2023, Preliminary design will commence.

When is construction starting?

At present the project is going through the information gathering and validation stage to develop a Master Plan. Preliminary design is anticipated to begin in autumn 2023 following by the Planning process in summer 2024.  Once Planning consent has been obtained the project will move to detailed design followed by Construction on a phased basis. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in 2029.

The project is being led by Dublin City Council on behalf of Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and the Nation Transport Authority.

How do we find out what is happening in our area?

As the project progresses further Public stakeholder Engagement events will take place. These events will be advertised through community groups, the area offices and on this website.

Has a project like this been done before?

Elements of this project have been carried out many times in different locations across the Ireland. However this is the first time a project of this scale and complexity has been undertaken in Ireland.
