Composting is a natural process that turns organic materials such as plant trimmings, leaves and vegetable scraps into a rich, nutritious and crumbly soil-like material. When used in your garden, compost will add nutrients back into the soil and support the growth of healthy plants. Composting garden and vegetable waste at home will reduce the amount of organic waste sent for disposal.
