Apply to Host an Event or Activity

The city's parks are the perfect place to host fitness classes, fun runs, yoga and mindfulness classes, and lots more. They can also provide the perfect backdrop for filming, photography or promotional events.

Dublin city parks and green spaces are available for you to host events and activities, but you will need a permit.

How to apply for a permit:

  1. Download the relevant application form and guidance document
  2. Fill it out
  3. Acquire your public liabilities insurance certificate
  4. Email your completed form and public liabilities Insurance to [email protected]
  5. If your application is approved, pay your invoice on Dublin City Council's secure online payment platform

Public liability insurance

All applications must be accompanied by a public liabilities insurance certificate. Applications for large events may take six to eight weeks to process.

Dublin City Council must be named and indemnified on the policy.

Each applicant must submit evidence of public liability insurance cover; the level of indemnity to be not less than €6.5 million in respect of any one incident. Employers liability of €13 million is also required where individuals/companies are employing people (this includes classes).

€250 + Vat for the first 2 hours

€100 + Vat for every hour thereafter

€1000 + Vat daily rate (up to 6pm)

 

€250 + Vat per hour after 6pm

Events / Commercial events / Promotional activity / Merchandising / Brand sampling

Invoicing

An invoice will be issued for an approved event or activity. This invoice must be paid in full, prior to the event or activity taking place.

In cases where the scale of an event may cause damage to the park or open space, you may have to provide a refundable bond in the form of a bank draft (see application form for more details).

Payment of the appropriate charge for the use of the park/open space must be made prior to the event / activity taking place.
