East Coast Trail North Phase 1 (Alfie Byrne Road/East Wall Road Section)
Wednesday 3rd of Jan – Construction will begin on the new islands at East Point junction (taking a section of the left hand lane)
Monday 8th of Jan – Works will begin on the islands at the corner of the East Wall Rd and Alfie Byrne Road Jct – This will see the full left hand lane from East point Business Park to the East Wall Rd junction Closed.
Tuesday 9th of Jan – the remaining left hand lane from the ABR/East Wall Rd junction to Church road will be closed to facilitate the construction of the new traffic islands at the Church Road Junction.
12/03/2024 - Ongoing Surfacing and Road Marking Works between the East Point Business Park on Alfie Byrne Road and the Junction of East Road on East Wall Road
New Cycleway Surfacing on Alfie Byrne Road and East Wall Road will be ongoing until 25th March 2024.
Road Marking will take place during March and April during off peak hours.
The Project is expected to be complete early in May 2024.
The East Coast Trail North Phase 1 will provide segregated cycling facilities and improved pedestrian facilities along a 1km route that extends from the entrance to the Eastpoint Business Park on Alfie Byrne Road, along Alfie Byrne Road and East Wall Road as far as East Road. The route forms part of a secondary route in the Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network Plan published by the National Transport Authority in 2013. As part of the works a link will be provided from Alfie Byrne Road to a section of the Tolka Valley Greenway which runs through Fairview Park towards Annesley Bridge.
