Conserving your Dublin Period House online talks

Dublin City Council and the Irish Georgian Society have assembled a team of conservation experts to present a series of talks each Tuesday lunchtime during March, April and May 2024. The talks will provide an overview of the history and significance of Dublin’s period houses and practical advice on their conservation.
The individual talks will examine the history, significance and conservation of ironwork, roofs, windows, doors, staircases, lime, bricks, pointing and decorative plasterwork; as well as themed conservation lectures addressing conservation policy and legislation; tackling damp; sensitively extending historic buildings; implementing appropriate energy efficiency measures; disaster management; insurance; and advice on applying for grant aid.
Attendance at talk will be benefit built heritage professionals and practitioners with talks recognised as formal CPD by the Irish Planning Institute, the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, Engineers Ireland and the CIF Heritage Contractors.
