Going to school for the first time is a big milestone in a child's life. It's an exciting, yet somewhat nervous time for the whole family. All books are available to borrow or reserve in your local library.

The novels nominated and shortlisted for the Award will be available for readers to borrow from Dublin City Libraries and from public libraries around Ireland, or can be borrowed as eBooks and some as eAudiobooks on the free Borrowbox app, available to all public library users.
Dublin City Council will unveil a commemorative plaque for the writer Maeve Brennan at her childhood home (48 Cherryfield Avenue) in Ranelagh on 6 January 2024 at 11am.
