This scheme is being progressed as part of the Public Realm Strategy and the City Centre Masterplan, which was developed to meet the objectives of the overarching Dublin City Council Public Realm Strategy ‘Your City Your Space’ document.
Dublin City Council, through its’ Public Works Contractor Actavo (Ireland) Ltd.
Dublin City Council through its Public Works contractor, Actavo (Ireland) Ltd are commencing work January 2024 on Barrow Street. Barrow Street is home to a diverse mix of residential type dwellings, shops and larger scale employers. The project covers approximately 420 meters in length or 7500 square metres in area from its Junction with Grand Canal Street Upper to its Junction with Ringsend Road.
Any materials fit for re-use are to be taken off site for storage in Dublin City Council Depots, for re-use at a future date on other projects in Dublin City as required
Yes there will be tree planting as part of the project
The Project went through a statutory Part 8 planning process described in the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended). The project was approved in 2022 and has a planning reference number of DSDZ3644/22
