Dublin City Council supports 'Better Ballymun Day’ 2025
Published on 14th March 2025
Dublin City Council is proud to support this year’s ‘Better Ballymun Day’, which takes place today, 14th March.
‘Better Ballymun Day’ was an idea developed by the students of Trinity Comprehensive, a secondary school at the heart of the community in Ballymun to motivate local clubs, community groups, schools, organisations and companies to take part in a Day of Action. The community of Ballymun comes together and works on a day of actions to make Ballymun a better place.
Dublin City Council is leading and supporting various projects this year. Some of the activities taking place include painting a mural on Ballymun Main Street, production of a recycling awareness video with students, tree planting and enhancement at the entrance to Ballymun Industrial Estate, a Community enhancement project with residents in the Silloge Neighbourhood, enhancement of a new reflective garden in Balcurris Park, Biodiversity signage and painting at Balbutcher Lane, litter picks and clean ups at numerous litter black spot areas and much more. There are over 39 projects taking place on the day.
Dublin City Council Public Domain and Community staff are out assisting in many of the actions. The Council also supports this great community initiative by providing equipment for the clean-up, free of charge, and all bags are collected by the Council on the day.
