Looking for something to keep the kids from getting bored this summer? Well Dublin City Council’s Richmond Barracks might just have the answer!

Children and teenagers from 7 to 16 years of age can make, create, learn, and turn their ideas into art with a variety of different creative workshops for different age groups at Richmond Barracks Summer Camps 2025

Four distinct camps, each focusing on a specific theme - biodiversity and urban gardening, Dublin history, electronic projects, or illustration - are supervised and led by experienced and engaging facilitators who specialise in guiding participants through each activity.

Each camp takes place over three days for two to three hours per day. With a small charge of €10 for the three days for one participant, or €15 for two participants from the same family, they offer great value and are always popular, so advanced booking is advised. Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Laura Howe, Culture Connects Programme Manager says: “The Culture Connects Programme at Richmond Barracks offers a year-round programme of activities and workshops for children and young people. Activities are planned based on what we learn from listening to people. With these camps, we want to provide an engaging and accessible way for children and young people to try out new things, learn new skills, and connect through culture.”

Bookings can be made online at https://scanner.topsec.com/?d=1962&r=show&u=www.richmondbarracks.ie%2Fcamps&t=5b7a5b19243d0aad6fa4286243b8892bd6ba732a or by calling 01 524 2532.

The Culture Connects programme at Richmond Barracks is operated by Dublin City Council Culture Company. The CEO of Dublin City Council Culture Company, Iseult Dunne says: "Dublin City Council Culture Company runs cultural initiatives and buildings across the city with, and for, the people of Dublin. The Culture Connects programme is operated by Culture Company staff, and funded through Dublin City Council’s funding of the Culture Company and its work in cultural provision and cultural participation. We are dedicated to investing time and resources into making cultural experiences available to everyone in Dublin, and we are delighted to be able to offer a rich and diverse programme including creative activities for children and young people all year round."
