They will be part of the first Local Enterprise Village located in the Pavilion at Bloom, supported by the Local Enterprise Offices.

The Village has been a mainstay of the Ploughing Championships giving small businesses the chance to put themselves in front of thousands of potential new customers and it is now setting up at Bloom in the Phoenix Park from 29th May to 2nd June.

  • SANDIA DUBLIN (Betzy Medina) – Sandia Dublin, created in 2017, is an award winning jewellery brand founded by Venezuelan artist Betzy Nina. • Nine Arrow (Catherine Geaney) – Nine Arrow craft art prints, pins, and greeting cards inspired by the richness of the Irish language. Each piece is a little celebration of culture, designed to help share moments of connection, laughter, and grá (love). From wildflowers to wise old words, the pieces let you share love of Gaeilge in meaningful ways. www.ninearrow.com
  • The Wonky Woolins (Chloe Gardiner) - The Wonky Woolins is a multi-award winning children's brand creating memories that last for generations with their range of ethically handmade and heirloom quality children's toys and baby gifts. www.thewonkywoolins.com

As part of the pilot eight businesses from across the country will take part in the event this time, and that includes a Creative Showcase by three handpicked Dublin clients within the Local Enterprise Village that will be located in the Retail Marquee alongside more well known and recognised brands.

Kieran Comerford, Chair of the Local Enterprise Offices, said; “This is a first-time opportunity for clients of the Local Enterprise Offices to experience the benefits of being at Bloom across the weekend.  With over 100,000 visitors expected at the event this is significant exposure for these small businesses to showcase their products to a massive audience and we’re delighted to give them this platform.

“We have given small businesses this chance at the Ploughing Championships for many years and see the benefits it brings from making sales and generating leads to just building awareness and learning from other businesses on site.  Bloom is always a brilliant event on the calendar and this year we’re delighted to be involved to showcase some of the best of what the Local Enterprise Offices have been supporting from across the country.”

The Local Enterprise Village at Bloom is just one of a number of initiatives that the Local Enterprise Offices run, to foster entrepreneurship across the country. Others include Local Enterprise Week, the National Enterprise Awards, the Student Enterprise Programme, National Women’s Enterprise Day and Local Enterprise Showcase. The Local Enterprise Offices in local authorities are funded by the Government of Ireland through Enterprise Ireland.

Established in 2014, the Local Enterprise Offices are the essential resource for any entrepreneur looking to start a business or any small business that is looking for support or advice to help them grow. Since their inception eight years ago, the Local Enterprise Offices have helped create over 75,000 jobs across the country. The LEOs work with thousands of client companies across Ireland in a diverse range of sectors offering mentoring, training, expert advice and financial supports to small businesses.
