Dublin City Council is delighted to support Pride 2025 with a series of initiatives across the city.

This year we expect over 100,000 people to flock to the streets of Dublin, including members of the public, staff, their families, friends, allies and also members of the Dublin City Council LGBT+ Staff Network.

Dublin City Council is the biggest supporter and funder of Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride, which now hosts one of the biggest parades in Europe.

This year we will once again be hosting Belong To’s Pride Breakfast Experience for hundreds of LGBTQ+ young people tomorrow morning, ahead of the Pride parade. Up to 600 young people from across Ireland are expected to attend the breakfast at the Civic Offices on Wood Quay.

Around 150 Dublin City Council staff members, their families and friends will then be taking part in the Pride parade as usual, which starts at 12pm on O’Connell St. We will also be flying the Pride flag on the Civic Offices, flag poles along the Liffey, bus shelters and digi panels across the city, sending a strong message of inclusion to everyone who lives, works and visits the city.

The City Council will also be lighting up Samuel Beckett Bridge, Smithfield Square and James Joyce Bridge in the Pride colours.

Richard Shakespeare, CEO of Dublin City Council said,“Dublin City Council is proud to support Belong To’s pre-Pride Parade Activities. Belong To’s work in providing support and education for LGBTQ + young people, their families and their peers is incredible. We are proud to facilitate this free event for LGBTQ+ young people and the Belong To team. I am equally proud to march in Pride alongside my Dublin City Council LGBTQ+ colleagues. Tomorrow will be a day of equality, camaraderie and support. It is always a joyful event.”
