Dublin City Council Announces Opening of Annual Arts Grants with Increased Funding
Published on 22nd September 2025
Dublin City Council is delighted to announce that applications for the 2026 Arts Grants and Awards are now open. In a strong show of support for the city’s vibrant creative community, an additional €50,000 has been allocated to both the Project Grant and Bursary Award funding streams. This increase highlights the Council’s ongoing commitment to fostering artistic innovation and providing vital opportunities for artists and arts organisations across Dublin to flourish.
Dublin City Arts Grants are available across four categories:
Revenue Grants
Revenue Grants are aimed at arts organisations that play a strategic role in advancing the priorities and goals of Dublin City Council. These organisations serve as key advocates and promoters of the arts, engaging the public and strengthening partnerships within the creative sector.
Project Grants
Project Grants support arts organisations and individual artists in realising the public presentation of new work within the Dublin City Council administrative area. Eligible projects must take place locally and demonstrate artistic quality and public engagement.
Bursary Awards
The Bursary Awards provide individual artists across all artforms with financial support to pursue activities such as training, mentoring, research, and capacity building. Applicants must reside within the Dublin City Council administrative area.
Neighbourhood Grants
Neighbourhood Grants fund arts projects and programmes that originate from residents, local community groups, or artists working closely with neighbourhood participants. These grants encourage meaningful collaboration to strengthen local cultural identity and support inclusive creative participation.
Application Process
All applications must be submitted online via the Submittable platform. The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on Tuesday, 4th November 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. For detailed guidelines and to apply, please visit the Dublin City Arts Office website at www.dublincityartsoffice.ie.
Dublin City Council remains steadfast in its dedication to enriching the city’s cultural landscape and supporting the artistic community’s ongoing growth and success.
