75th birthday celebrations for the Henry Street/Mary Street Christmas Market!

Dublin City Council is delighted to announce the return of the much-loved annual Henry St/Mary St Christmas Market for a very special birthday!
2024 is a milestone to remember for the public and all the stakeholders involved, because it marks 75 years since the market became official. To celebrate, Dublin City Council has revamped the market and added new elements.
The market first began in 1949 and continues to bring some Christmas cheer to the area each year.
This year brings an array of new ideas and an exciting vibrancy to the market streets. Some of the new ideas that you will see when you visit are:
- New market stalls & flags
- A community hub showcasing some of the local community groups work
- A webpage on dublincity.ie
- A Santa Grotto on December 14th and 15th in aid of Childline/ISPCC
- 2fm broadcasting live on 6th December
- On street entertainment during the market
- A coffee trailer
The market runs from 24/11/24, 7 days per week, from 10am to 9pm and finishes on Christmas Eve.
Dublin City Council encourages everyone to feel the magic and help support this unique traditional market.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin, James Geoghegan, will be officially launching the market on December 7th at 12 noon so come along to join in the festive spirit.
