Dublin City Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Irish Architects, Scott Tallon Walker Architects, in partnership with OKRA, an Urban & Landscape Design practice from the Netherlands, as the joint lead designers for the College Green Dame Street Public Realm Project.
This project aims to transform the historic city core, delivering a welcoming, safe and vibrant pedestrian-friendly space at the heart of Dublin City, which prioritises universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening, while restoring and enhancing the history and heritage of this unique location. The project area extends from South Great Georges Street to Trinity College.
The appointment of Scott Tallon Walker Architects with OKRA is the result of a two-stage EU procurement competition, which attracted significant international interest with submissions from Ireland, the UK, the USA and Europe. Dublin City Council in conjunction with the newly appointed Design Team will bring the project through the various project stages including stakeholder engagement, design, planning and construction.
Scott Tallon Walker Architects with OKRA will lead a multi-disciplinary team which includes Roughan & O'Donovan Consulting Engineers in conjunction with Civic Engineers, Avison Young and Doyle Kent, Planning Consultants, Howley Hays Cooney Conservation Architects and Linesight Quantity Surveyors.
Timelines for stakeholder consultation and the development of the preliminary design will be established once the project programme has been developed.
