Dublin City Play Plan

Play is essential for children and young people, not just for their physical heath but for their social and cognitive development too. Their natural creativity and imagination are enhanced through play. Dublin City Council is committed to providing accessible and inclusive opportunities to play for children and young people of all ages through the implementation of the Dublin City Play Plan.

This Plan (2012-2017) was created by Dublin City Council in in conjunction with partners, children, young people and their communities. It lays out the vision for play in the City: Dublin will be a child friendly and playful city and that will facilitate or support a wide variety of high-quality play and recreation opportunities for children and young people that promote healthy child development.
