Dublin Fire Brigade's External Training
Dublin Fire Brigade provides fire, medical, health and safety training to individuals, companies and public sector organisations.
Our training can be customised to meet your requirements. Courses can be delivered at Dublin Fire Brigade's training centre on the Malahide Road or, depending on the type of training required, at your premises.
Fire Marshal Training
Our one-day Fire Marshal course has been tailored to meet the requirements of both the Fire Services Act (1981) and Section 11 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005).
The course takes students through a range of fire-related topics and covers emergency and non-emergency duties that a fire marshal would be expected to perform.
The course aims to give students the knowledge and skills required to maintain a safe working environment. They will learn to effectively manage an evacuation, deal with an outbreak of fire in its early stages and liaise with the fire brigade.

Fire Marshal Refresher Course
A four-hour refresher course is also available for those who have already completed Dublin Fire Brigade's full Fire Marshal Training course.
Fire Safety Manager Training
The Fire Safety for Managers course has been tailored to meet the requirements of both the Fire Services Act (1981) and Section 11 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005). The course will take the students through a range of fire safety duties that a Fire Safety Manager would be expected to perform.
This course aims to give students the knowledge and skills required to maintain a safe working environment and effectively manage a company’s fire safety obligations. By the end of this one-day course, students will be able to take on the role of Fire Safety Manager.

Fire Safety Awareness Training
The Fire Safety Awareness course has been tailored to meet the requirements the Fire Services Act (1981) and will take students through a range of fire safety-related topics. It covers emergency and non-emergency activities that every staff member needs to be aware of.
This three-hour course teaches students to maintain a safe environment that is free from fire hazards and to identify classes of fire and deal with them effectively.

Medical Training for First Aid Responders
Our First Aid Responder course is designed to cater for the needs of a wide range of clients in industry. The course is a requirement of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005) and is suitable for staff members who are assigned as occupational First Aiders in the workplace.
This course includes 24 hours of training and usually takes place over three days. It gives students the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage an accident or incident where first aid skills are required.
The training covers:
- Accident and scene control.
- Foreign body airway obstruction.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Trauma and bleeding control.
- Shock management.
- Burns and poisons
- Broken bones.
This course can be tailored to your requirements and is also FETAC accredited. Fees are available on request.
First Aid Responder Refresher Course
This is a two-day refresher course for those who have already attended our full First Aid Responder course.
Heartsaver CPR and AED Training
Our four-hour Heartsaver-AED course is delivered using a watch-while-practising DVD-based programme. This format is proven to retain skill levels at a high standard for longer.
This course is recommended for lay rescuers who wish to learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Dublin Fire Brigade is a recognised training site for the Irish Heart Foundation. Recertification is required every two years. For more information, download our brochure.
Manual Handling Training
Our Manual Handling course is designed to cater to the needs of a wide range of clients in office, medical or industrial settings.
Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (1993), employers must adequately train staff in safe manual handling techniques. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005), employers must risk assess and offer training to employees who then must undertake the training offered.
This four-hour course gives students the knowledge and skills required to effectively assess and correctly lift a load, reducing back strain and risk of injury. For more information, download the brochure below.
Confined Spaces Course
This course takes the student through all aspects of confined space entry and satisfies the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005). It is suitable for anyone who is required to enter a confined space for any reason.

Water Safety Awareness Training
This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (2005) and will take the students through a range of water-related topics, including water safety awareness, survival techniques and personal protection equipment.
